November Blog (English)

Hello again!,

Here is my second blog about my guitar lessons.
Thank you for stopping by.

Don't hesitate to get in touch if you got any doubt or suggestion regarding its contents.

"The Bard's Song" (Blind Guardian)
[New studio version].

A student I had last year, Angel, requested to learn this song. We almost learn the whole piece, but without the variations on Verse 2 and Chorus 2, and the Outro.

I've been teaching this song this month to Jose and Daniel, and this time I've transcribed the whole lead guitar part.

The version we've learned appears in youtube as "The Bard's Song (Studio)".

My tab is in standard tuning.

Section A melody is played by the rhythm guitar (fingerpicking), but I've adapted it for the lead guitar.

This is the video I have recorded and uploaded to my youtube channel. You also have the full transcription.

These are the diagrams of the scales used.

"The man who sold the world" (David Bowie).

Pablo and Bryan learned this one, which is a very popular song in the acoustic guitar repertoire.

I included in my handwritten notes: chords, structure and riffs.

I decided to use the capo on the fourth fret so they wouldn't have to change the tuning.

Something (The Beatles) - Recorded by Ramón.

There is a section in my website where I upload recording made by some of my students in class.
I found this one while I was organizing files and folders in my computer. It doesn't appear in my website, so I thought I would post it here.

Ramón recorded the guitars, and I did the programming of the drums, bass and keyboard. I believe he did a good job.

Just click on the icon below to listen to it (it will take you to a page on my website with several recordings made by my students).

I hope you've found this material interesting.

See you next month.
